The SMU Cox School of Business recently announced that James Dondero, Highland Capital Management’s president, is part of their executive board. As a board member, Dondero will enhance the association between the University and his company. The two institutions are currently partnering on a program known as the Highland Capital Management Tower Scholars. This program empowers scholastic and career-based pursuits in the field of public policy. The program also contributes funds to the George W. Bush Presidential Library as well as the Museum.

He graduated with two degrees in the fields of finance and accounting from the University of Virginia.
